Cindy McCain Nominated to UN Position

Designated role as an ambassador for food and agriculture.

President Biden nominated Cindy McCain to be the U.S. representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture. She is the widow of the late Arizona Senator John McCain. If confirmed, Mrs. McCain will carry the rank of ambassador and will head to Rome to take on global food insecurities while serving as an envoy to the United Nations.

“I am honored to be selected by President Biden to serve as Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture,” Cindy McCain stated. “The communities this group serves need our support and focus, and I look forward to meeting the challenges this role presents.“ She also expressed gratitude for those who have supported her and prepared her for the position.

The president and late-senator were friends during their long years serving together in the Senate.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Cindy McCain as her nomination comes before the Senate.
  • For members of the Senate to have wisdom as they consider the president’s appointees for confirmation.
  • For U.S. and UN officials seeking to ensure the global availability of quality food.
